Scrappy Little Nobody

review Scrappy Little Nobody
After listening to “Scrappy Little Nobody” I adore Anna Kendrick. Let me rephrase that… After a few minutes into this book I was in love with Anna Kendrick.

It’s probably a good read by itself but Anna makes the stories come to life with her unique way of talking, enthusiasm and authenticity. You relive the funny parts and cringe through the awkward parts with her. I almost felt like a friend was sitting next to me talking about some crazy stuff that happened to her.

review: Dyson Supersonic hair dryer

Dyson Supersonic hair dryer

This is hands down the Bentley of hair dryers. I can't believe I actually own this beauty.

When I opened my boyfriend's Christmas present I couldn't believe my eyes. What in the world had he done?? I could barely contain my excitement. The next minute a million questions popped into my head. Why did he spend so much money on me? What if there is nothing special about this hair dryer? Will I have to lie about it from now on? What if I hate it? You see my excitement quickly gave way to panic. ;)

fall candles

 Bath and Bodyworks candles

It might be close to winter now.. Especially not that it's December 1st. But this one fall post needs to be on my blog. I have watched countless Youtubers rave about the Bath & Body Works fall candles for years and years and now I finally got my hands on them. I took advantage of my family from the US visiting in October. I know they always have some spare room in their luggage on their way to Austria so I filled up that space with candles. The pure joy I felt when my aunt handed me a box of fall greatness is hard to put into words. Let's see what I got and how I liked it. Afterall it is hard to decide on a scent online.

book review: The Passage Trilogy

http://cdn.bloody-disgusting.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/The-Passage1.jpghttps://img.washingtonpost.com/rf/image_1484w/2010-2019/WashingtonPost/2012/10/04/BookWorld/Images/THE%20TWELVE.jpghttp://www.blastr.com/sites/blastr/files/styles/blog_post_in_content_image/public/CITY_OF_MIRRORS_-_Justin_Cronin.jpg?itok=aInoBNsZ

A few days after finishing one of the most fascinating trilogys, I have to sit down and tell you about a breathtaking story. For the second time I have fallen in love with a character without noticing it at first. When all of the sudden I started to be protective of him I knew it happened again. My first love was Newt from The Maze Runner. I have to admit though it started with the voice Mark Deakins gave Newt. And it deepened with his self-sacrificing, fearless but caring character as a leader.

This time I fell in love with Peter Jaxson. At first I didn’t really notice him because there were a lot of characters to get to know and I had no idea who to focus on. But as the story evolved I stood by his side and watched him grow into a man I would admire in real life. I guess I have a thing for fearless but at the same time caring males. ;) But who doesn't?

It’s been a while since I read the first two books so I hope I can still give you the review they deserve. No spoilers, I promise!

review: brow pomades Anastasia vs. NYX

Two products of my desire and neither are available in Austria. Lucky me!

Anastasia Beverly Hills vs. NYX brow pomade
I already mentioned the Anastasia Beverly Hillf brow pomade (taupe) in my US make up haul. The NXY tame & frame tinted brow pomade (blonde) was ordered from feelunique.

Ever since I purchased the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow pomade I was scared I would run out of it although it will probably last for ages anyway. Well my troubled mind made me buy the NYX brow pomade just in case I needed a cheaper alternative. You might ask why find an alternative if I haven’t even come close to running out of my expensive one? Well a) because now I can compare the products side by side without one being old and dried out and more importantly b) I can justify my purchases by blogging about them.

book review: Girl Online

most beautiful cover
predictable, cute and funny story

book review: Girl Online

I was very excited when the book came out and I finally held a copy of it in my hands. Needless to mention why I had to have the hard copy in my life.. Well, I’ll do it anyway. THE COVER is so beautiful. In my oppinion the book benefits a whole lot from the incredible cover.

But enough of that, let’s get to the book itself. After trying Zoe's product line Zoella Beauty, I had an idea what to expect and she didn’t fail me. The question is whether that is a good thing. Don’t get me wrong, I think writing a novel is amazing and brave. The book is well written, but I am - again - definitely not the targeted (teenaged) audience so my opinion might differ from someone this book was “written for”. I would recommend the book to 12 to 16 year old girls.

I have red about the ghost writer "scandal" but honestly I don't feel like I am in the place to have an oppinion on it. Writing a book all by your self, page by page, without anyone helping you at all is extremely difficult, I suppose. And she will have had her reasons to do whatever she did. I have never written a book by myself and therefore I am in no position to judge.

The story: (no spoilers, I promise!)
Penny lives in a quite perfect world. Well, she is not the most popular girl but we need some "problem" to start the plot. She has nice parents, gets along with her brother, her best friend lives next door and fortunately he is gay so there won’t be any problems with her starting a romance with someone else. Also his parents are not that great so he can spend his time being her best friend and hanging out with Penny and her family.

Penny herself reminded me - unsuprisingly - a lot of Zoe herself even though she pointed out that the character was 100% fictional. Well, Penny has anxiety attacks, not that many friends and writes a blog that does pretty well.

Let's make a long story short. Girl meets boy. Boy is good looking, mysterious and a musician. - What else? - They fall truly, madly and deeply in love. Best friend has to leave story so he won’t be left out and feel bad while the lovers spend every single minute together. Expected plot twist happens. Hell breaks loose. Expected happy ending takes place. Book ends.

The  book was a quick read, well written and had some adorable as well as funny parts but that is about it. It started out a little slow, got better but stayed predictable to the end.

Would I read it again? Probably not.
Do I regret reading it? Not at all. It was a good and eays book for the hollidays and I liked it.
Would I buy the book for someone else? Probably not, because I don't know anyone who watches Zoe's videos and therefore they probably wouldn't be interestes in the book.
Would I read a sequel? Yes, I think so.

review: Zoella Beauty

I really like Zoe Sugg and therefore couldn’t resist buying almost everything her Zoella Beauty collection has to offer.

review: Zoella Beauty

I placed two separate orders on Feelunique and they both took forever to arrive. But I am not complaining since shipping was free. It also took me a while to work my way through testing all the products before doing a proper review on them.

Soak Opera Bath Soak & Shower Cream
I had a very hard time opening the bottle which is sealed with some aluminum foil thing that is very hard to get off... But when you come to the actual produkt it is worth the struggle. This is the first shower cream I ever had looks beautiful itself. The actual gel/cream has a very pale pink color with a slight shimmer. Thankfully the shimmer doesn’t stay on your body when you shower. The smell is very fresh and maybe even bloomy. I like it a lot because it is not too overwhelming and not sweet. Also the name “soak opera” hello!? Winner!

Fizz Bar
As expected from Zoe (the Lush addict) there are more bathing products. Again same smell as the rest of the line. I have never used a fizz bar before so I didn’t know what to expect. What made me laugh though was the “do not eat” sticker on the fizz bar itself. Yes it smells really good but not like something I would want to eat. Not like pretty much any Lush product I own… But I guess you can never be too careful.

Blissful Mistful Fragranced Body Mist
Again cute name! Well done, Zoe (and her team)! The fragrance smells exactly like the shower cream. Well, the entire line smells the same. But can we talk about the bottle? I have to admit I bought this one just to have the bottle. The only thing that would have kept me from buying it would have been an awful smell. But I bought the shower cream before the body mist, so I knew what it would smell like. It is, as I already said, a very light and fresh smell that would also be ok for young teenagers to wear. Who I guess they are the main audience.

"Eyes" Beauty Bag
LOVE! I am thinking about getting the guinea pig beauty bag as well, because I am so in love with this one. I really like the color and the polka dots. And who doesn’t love those beautiful eyes? The size is pretty big actually so you can fit lots of make up in it. Unfortunately my make up brushes don’t fit.. But I am thinking of using it to organize my purse.

Let’s Glow Fragranced Candle
A candle fan like me couldn’t pass on this. What sense would that make? Again adorable packaging and signature smell. When you burn the candle you can smell it but it is not too overwhelming. I would have liked a slightly stronger scent though, just an notch. I also expected the candle to be bigger. Honestly I was a little disappointed when I saw it for the first time. But luckily I bought three :)

So this is all and I have to say. Well done Zoe! Also the pricing is totally acceptable with the body mist being the most expensive at  €12,35.

I don’t know if I will repurchase any of the products but they were fun to test and an eye catcher never the less.
